William Penn once said: “Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.” While it may seem that our members and staff control our minutes and hours in the day, this session will share ways on how to “invest” in your time and not just “spend” it. We will reflect on not only time management, but also energy management and how managing both can have a profound impact on our lives. Discover ways to take more control of your time and invest in your future.

The World of Aromatized Wines
Fortified wines and aperitifs, often overlooked, are an integral part to any successful cocktail program. In this class, we will explore the history of fortified wine production and learn how to use these amazing products in both classic and modern cocktail applications. Additionally, we will discuss the different grape varietals and botanicals used during production, and we’ll also talk about why that bottle of vermouth you've been holding for a year tastes less than spectacular. Then, we will all become bar tenders as we mix our own drinks for a special cocktail hour.

6 Keys to Empowering Employees to Think Like Owners
Too often employees have entirely different goals than owners or even management of the companies for which they work. When employees and managers/owners have goals that are not aligned, it can lead to stress and conflict on the parts of both employees and management. When management/owners and employees are pulling in different directions, it results in less than optimal results for the organization and lower employee satisfaction. This is a common but very solvable problem for managers.  In this fast-paced presentation, Dr. Joplin draws upon his research and thirty years of successful experience as a leader to explain the six simple keys to empowering employees to think like owners.
